Part of the Cecil's Mill Historic District, the old Cecil's Country Store and post office opened in 1906. For 70 years Cecil's Country Store was the "supermarket" of its day, carrying groceries, household goods, and sundries back when shoppers arrived in horse-drawn wagons and Model T's. Many remnants of the original store and post office are still in place today for visitors to view.
Cecil's Country Store is now a charming gift shop filled with antiques, nautical home decor, Maryland-themed (and St. Mary's County-themed!) merchandise & clothing, Mary Lou Troutman art, designer jewelry, flameless & scented candles, luscious bath products, fine linens, unique books, and children's items.
Located directly across the street is Cecil's Old Mill, home to a handcrafted furniture and art shop.
