Christmas Stripers
A huge quantity of rockfish have moved into the lower Potomac.
There is a mix of domestic and sea run stripers from the mouth of the St. Mary's River to Smith Point.
Miss Susie Charters limiting out every day out of Point Lookout.
Trollers report a lot of sea lice on the fish, indicating migration from the salty Atlantic. The huge stripers began showing up late last week. Many of these fish can measure 40 inches and weigh up to 50 pounds. The maximum to keep is 24 inches, so the big fish are all catch and release. But the chance to catch the trophy of a lifetime is here, if it's only for a photo.
Big rockfish have arrived in lower Potomac. Capt. Greg of Miss Susie Charters got this monster rock Sunday.
Special thanks to Ken Lamb and The Tackle Box for a year of fishing reports. The reports will resume in the spring.
